Introducing East Liverpool Chiropractor Dr. Scott Ricciardi"Oh, no! Back pain! I’m doomed with low back pain for the rest of my life!" were my thoughts when I was 17 and had to see the chiropractor. I hurt my lower back while I was working part time for a home re-modeler. My mom said I should see a chiropractor so I went a couple times, felt better and went on with my life. A year or two later after moving to South Florida the pain returned. I looked up a nearby chiropractor and it helped. But while I was at their office (a husband and wife team), I noticed a flyer about a program at Miami-Dade Community College to become a chiropractic technician. I took one year at YSU for Electrical Engineering that didn't work out, but I knew I didn't want to continue remodeling. | Scott A Ricciardi's Profile![]() Create Your Badge |
Since I had good experiences with both chiropractors, I thought it would be worthwhile to find out more. I enrolled and learned more about chiropractic and the philosophy behind it. I began working for several chiropractors in the South Florida area. At that point I knew how to do everything in a chiropractic office except adjust. I figured I might as well go the rest of the way and go to chiropractic college.
So I did. I ended up at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis because it was well rounded in philosophy and education. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science and a Doctorate in Chiropractic in 1992.
I believe we have a responsibility to be a good steward of our body. Which means taking care of it by giving it good nourishment, rest, exercise and maintaining a well-balanced life. Stress does the body harm. The only way we can combat these stressors is to have every aspect of our lives working at its optimum, including our nervous system. And the only way that can happen is to keep the spine free of subluxations.
There are people I can help and those I cannot. I don’t accept everybody as a patient. Only those I feel I can help and are willing to do what it takes to get better. We both have responsibilities. In the beginning of care, I’ll tell you what is required from you and what you can expect from me. If we both do our parts we can have a win-win relationship.
My family is a large part of my life. My wife, Paula and I have been together since 1985. We met at Fun-n-Pizza in the Boardman Plaza and started dating shortly after. We married in 1988 and began our family. Briana in 1991, Ashley in 1994, Courtney in 1996, Elijah in 2001 and Jacob in 2004. With many blessings come many responsibilities and we love it. A large family is just a party waiting to happen. Paula homeschools all five children.
We serve at our church, Hope Christian Fellowship. We are involved in many different ministries there. Our purpose is to build relationships with others so they can see a hope and a future in Jesus Christ. I enjoy watching people grow in Christ as well as grow in their understanding of health. Health is a gift, just like salvation. And people are free to reject either. I just hope to demonstrate through my life and practice an alternative to the same old rut.
Naturally, I get chiropractic care on an ongoing basis so I can be my best. My lower back seldom bothers me and I’m blessed to serve humanity through chiropractic.
My family uses many homeopathic remedies, especially Oscillococcinum for the flu (great stuff, knocks it right out), for teething and well as everyday childhood complaints. Vitamins are also part of our daily regime. It surprises many to learn that have chosen not to vaccinate our kids. After our oldest had side effects, and after lots of research (www.909shot.com) and others, we decided against it. Sound interesting? Call me discuss your own concerns. We love our children and would never do anything intentionally to hurt them.
Our last three children were born at home. Childbirth is a natural process that can occur without injury to the mom and child if the mom, coach, dad and all involved are properly educated and prepared. It’s not something I recommend to everyone, but I would say our births were very important times for our family. It was an awesome event watching and participating in my child's birth. It really is a miracle.
Well, enough about me! I look forward to hearing more about you and see if I can help you move towards better health. Give me a call or email me and let's arrange a time to explore your health care options.
